Aftermarket parts BLOW !!
Have been trying to get some work done to my 69 ( posted in another thread added new doors and internals and am now adding 1 piece windows ). Went ahead and put the windows in ( while I was waiting on my new window setup ) for a local cars show this weekend. Got them all together and after rolloing the passenger window up and down about 5 times the NEW window regulator BROKE and will not roll up or down !!! Fortunatly I kept the old one so I can get it back to working. Got the parts from LMC ( TIAWAN MADE CRAP !!!). Also bought new door latches that will not work for crap either !! So I ended up using my old ones there also !!! Does ANYONE make repop parts that are worth a CRAP !?!?!?! Has anyone else had probems with LMC parts ?? This is a royal PAIN in the A$$ NEW PARTS AND THE BREAK !! My problem is the parts were bought 5 years ago so i can't return them. So after the "NEW" aftermarket doors not fitting the best and now this, it is OEM or NOS ONLY for all my projects from now on !!!!

Re: Aftermarket parts BLOW !!
Most repo crap is nowhere near the quality of NOS. Sorry your having problems. Depending on what part you need sometimes it better to find NOS. I used repo fenders and they were not a good fit at all. Good luck with your projects.

Re: Aftermarket parts BLOW !!
Unfortunately, that seems to be the way it is on most things. The only decent aftermarket parts that I've never heard muchg bad about is the bedsides, which shocking considering the size of them. Most of the doors, fenders, hoods, and tailgates I've seen suck. I have 9 parts trucks, and I have had people get mad at me because I won't sell any rust-free panels (unless I have several). The only thing I plan on using aftermarket for my '69 C-10 build is interior stuff, grill, bumpers and trim - mainly because of the lack of good used stuff and the cost of NOS.

Even Goodmark for bad panels? I am surprised because of good things I normally hear.

Re: Aftermarket parts BLOW !!
It seems these days a good donor truck is the answer, but everyone does not have the room for them. I just put a new door hinge on and it is tight as ever. The door is adjusted but it is not the same. Everyone here on the board recommends board vendors for the most part. LMC has always had a Bad rap as far back as I remember. There magazines make great how to fix it books. Good Luck and never give up on our fine passion for trucks.

Re: Aftermarket parts BLOW !!
I don't think I will ever loose the passion for these trucks, I'll just stop, step back, and re-group ( and learn from the experience LOL ). All will work out, now I am struggling with the 1 piece window set-up to get it to function properly. Oh Well !!! If it was easy Monkeys would be doing it !!!

Re: Aftermarket parts BLOW !!
I have, what I believe to be, a goodmark 2" steel cowl hood on my 69 suburban. I cannot get it to fit right.
We've done everything from hogging out all adjustment holes, pulling, etc. and it still fits like crap. I'm about to yank it for a stock hood. I'm not picky about fit and finish, for the most part, but it just doesn't sit well. Anyone else have trouble with these hoods? or are they other company's repop'n these? Maybe I have a reject built on a friday at 3pm before a big holiday weekend!!??!

Re: Aftermarket parts BLOW !!
I have a mustang II under my truck that was bolt-in. It is awesome but it takes 1-inch of shims to get it to -1 degrees of camber. You would think it would be easy to design a kit that is square, apparently not.
