bumper bolt size

Wanted to round up some replacement bumper bolts and couldn't see paying for a specialty part when they can probably be found a lot cheaper at my local hardware store...the bumpers/bolts on my blazer have seen better days.

Does anybody happen to have the size of the front/rear bumper bolts for our trucks?

I did a search and found this for the 73-87 models...but nothing for the 67-72s.

Thanks

Re: bumper bolt size

I used 1/2" carriage bolts from the hardware store. I have a painted bumper. While painting said bumper I did the bolts too. I drilled some holes in a scrap piece of 2x4, scuffed up the bolt heads, and while spraying the bumper I shot some on the bolts.

Oh I almost forgot. Before I sprayed the first coat of epoxy on the bolts and bumper, I dipped the bolt heads in the mixed primer so the back of the head wouldn't rust for a while.

Just be careful when installing the bumper, the color on the edges of the bolt head will chip easily.
