Sick or Sickening?

Now that I'm the proud owner of a 4-eyed GMC- I've been pondering how to upgrade the lighting. Being as I have to buy 4 headlights and the Hella / Cibie / Bosch retailers don't generally price a 5.75" H4 unit lower than a 7" one- I'll end up spending 2x the price as you Chevy guys. This got me thinking....if I'm gonna be dropping $200-$300 for quality e-code headlights anyways, maybe I'll try to find something a little further off the beaten path.
Here's what I found:
Name: E30 Halos.jpg
Views: 329
Size: 32.1 KB

Granted the bracketry is for an E30 BMW, but with a little tweekin' I think I can shoe horn the modules into my GMC mounts.

Whaddya'll think?

Re: Sick or Sickening?

Id say just get some new bulbs and do the headlight relay mod in the FAQ section.. cheap and a great upgrade from stock!

Re: Sick or Sickening?

I agree w/ Red. Make sure the core support has a good ground and get some replacement halogen sealed beams and it will probably make a big difference.

I guess I'm cheap, but at least on my truck the money is better spent on fixing more urgent problems.

Re: Sick or Sickening?

My halogen sealed beams are brighter than any composite headlight I've owned. Factory or aftermarket.

Are they two different colors? Gray and blue? Looks like it in the pic. I'd go with the gray looking one personally. They's probably look pretty cool.

Actually, the photo shows one set with the "Halo's" off and the other has them lit up. That's kinda why I like them- I can run just the halo's while cruisin' at dusk or when parked.

At about 2-fiddy a set, including H1/H3 bulbs, sockets and relays, I think I'll give 'em a shot. I'll post up some pics when I make some progress.
