Gear Grinding (The Fix)
What's up, just thought I throw some info out there in case anyone was having the same problem as me. Anyway, ever since I've owned my truck (only 1.5 years) shifting from 3rd to 4th always grinded. Pretty much the only way to keep it from grinding was to double clutch, and lord forbid if you wanted to speed shift! So I thought synthetic oil might do the trick, what the hell, worth a try right? I drained the tranny which I believe had your standard 75/90w oil although can't say for sure. Then went back in with some Royal Purple gear lube, did this work? Nope, actually the grind became worse, much worse. I guess the Royal Purp was to thin even though the same weight, looks very light. Ran that a couple weeks and then replaced it with Red Line heavy shock proof gear oil. Man does this stuff work, I can't get it to grind no matter how hard I shift! I swear it's like a new tranny! So if you guys have any problems like that check this stuff out.

Re: Gear Grinding (The Fix)
I think you mean "cant get it to grind". That redline stuff is good stuff.
