Lets see some wood bed floors

Going to convert my 71 fleetside to a wood floor and have not decided on what wood or finish to go with. Lets see some pics of your floors!

Funny, I am actually converting my wood floor to a steel one. LOL Just picked up the floor last night.

I found out that if they stay outside they have to be redone every once in a while. I think the moisture/sun kills them. Here's mine.

You are right. The sun's UV rays and water are the two biggest culprits in breaking down exterior varnish of any kind. The third is dirt. Keeping the bedwood clean & covered is the way to go if you want longevity.
