Stuck glovebox?
The button on my glove box won't push in and I can not figure out how to get it open. Any ideas?

You might try pushing in on the glove box door, then push on the button. Sometimes the lockbolt gets a groove worn in it from rubbing on the latch plate and that keeps it from retracting. When you push on the button does it feel like it is doing anything (any resistance) or does it push in all the way easily. I'm presuming it is a non-locking button. LockDoc

Re: Stuck glovebox?
Call Fonzie... Have you tried twisting the button while pushing slightly or then pressing in on the door to relieve pressure on the catch?

Re: Stuck glovebox?
Strange question - has it ever opened? I agree with what others have said...I had one where the dash cover (since it was falling apart) would block the door from opening - and I needed to hold up the dash cover to 'unstick' it.
If the cardboard glovebox is gone - or needs replaced - you could just go through the back (to open it) and replace the cardboard - it is only a couple bucks. |

Re: Stuck glovebox?
Ok I have tried everything listed and it is still no go. It used to open fine.
I have been told the easiest way to get the factory radio out on an a/c truck is thru the glove box. Is that correct?

Re: Stuck glovebox?
Since it`s oiled but is still stuck, smack the button with a nylon hammer or a heavier hammer with a block to protect.
