I am having trouble finding out how to glue the weatherstripping to the door of my 1948 GMC.
I have prealligned my doors & taken them off, installed the weatherstripping on one door & put the door on.
The door would not close. The stripping hit the cowl in the front & I took it off....uggh!

I am not even sure I have the right stripping. I will try to att. a picture.

Is this the right stripping & if so how does it fit?

Dang! Where did you get the stripping? It looks like it fits on the cab around the door opening instead of the door. I will be watching this thread as I will be installing weatherstripping soon. BTW the consistent favorite for rubber weatherstripping is Steele Rubber Products. http://166.82.96.3/homeframes.html
Check this link for Steele and you will see profiles of all the rubber products for your AD truck.

thats the original style per "Steele Rubber" catalog. Same as what I used on my project. The taller edge goes outboard per instructions. It will make your doors shut diff. It does get pinched tight along the fwd edge of door along the cab so be sure to use plenty of glue.

I'm not sure if Cat tractor contact cement would work or not but it usually sticks things together so nothing will pull them apart.

I've had trouble in the same areas trying to get the gaskets to fit and still haven't solved it. That is one of the must do things on the next rebuild.

3M makes "weatherstrip cement,its the yellow stuff sold at the autobody supply.

I think I bought it in Black also.
You may have to re-adjust the doors with the weatherstriping in place, NO FUN!!!
