I've never seen a Super this color...

I understand you could order the Cheyenne Super package in what ever color you want, but this combination had to be pretty rare. I asked him to post the SPID earlier today, to see what it said about the color. Sure enough, that is what was ordered.

Me too! Its kinda cool, but with that green top, I suddenly thought of one of those plastic "lemons" that lemon juice comes in with the green cap!

That thought didn't enter my mind until you said something.

I like it .... I think if I owned it the color would get old. Kinda like the Sunburst Orange HHRs or the Gecko Green Beetles...

I remember my dad driving a 71 that had a yellow roof with the med. olive body. Basically opposite of that one.

Re: I've never seen a Super this color...

Other than white as an accent color, that is one of the few "standard" two tone combinations offered from the factory, not an exception. You could get medium olive with grapefruit or dark olive. It`s like a combination offered in the`50s with current colors of the time.I like it.I`d be all over that if I had that stuff that`s the same color as that top.

I was thinking that could be in your corral.I definately like it...the factory did it,ya gotta like it.It ain`t no dimadozen thing, that`s fo' sho'.
I like it because it``s so damn dated, yet outdated for`72.It`s a combo for the elderly buyer of the time. That one is another great survivor.Especially since most would have been tempted to change color, evidently.Must be a one owner until recently or changed hands once,I`d guess.

I used to not like anything but a black, white,or saddle interior. Now,I like the colors since it marks the time when you had choices and style was a possibility,in the owner`s eye.

Re: I've never seen a Super this color...

I like it because it is different. My truck is factory tuo tone Olive Green. The colors start to grow on you. 38 years ago these colors would make me gag. But now....it's cool to be GREEN!

I had a medium red '70 that came from the factory with that blue-green aqua colored interior. It has green vinyl and medium red on the SPID, but it wasn't the regular green.

Re: I've never seen a Super this color...

Oh wow. An old man in my hometown, far to the North in Michigan had a '69 or '70 like it; it wasn't a Cheyenne or CST.

I've been a fan of these trucks since I was very young, and I used to see it on the way to my grandparents' house all the time. When I got older I eventually swung by there to ask him a bit about it. It was all original, and rarely driven. It had just a small amount of rust on the rockers - impressive for the salt haven that I'm from. I remember it was a short bed with a 250 in it.

I had always assumed that he had gotten the truck painted that color for some reason. Probably because he had painted the wheels and original hubcaps taxicab yellow. Probably because it is a very odd combination, especially with the dark green top and light green (apparently yellow) on the body. It just looked very much like an old man's truck, but I knew it always had a lot of potential. He still had it when I moved away in '97, but he was pretty old by that point.

It's cool to learn that the color combination was bone stock. Leads me to appreciate the truck even more!
