1872 Stepside - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Well, just around the corner from me there is a 72' Stepside. It hasn't moved in about 4 years. From the road it looks like its in mint condition(except paint). What should I offer him for it? I was thinking starting at 500$, so I can try for really cheap price. I cant see any rust from the road. I don't know what engine/tranny it has, I m hoping a 396 or 402.

Help appreciated.

hard to price with out pics. but if its truely rustfree i would start at 500 and try not to go alot higher in price. everything is gonna have to be flushed/fixed/replaced due to it sitting for so long.

Those 1872 modelS are really rare - I think that's when they started the super sport option!

I think by 1872 they were 2 horse model buck boards

This one here isn't a 1872 stepside, its a suburban on 48" wheels. I still think he should of gotten the chrome ones.

Boy, you guys can take a typo and run with it.
It is hard to tell without pics. alot of these trucks had the rust underneath, like the cab mounts?supports. So from the road, The truck might be hiding some deep down secrets.

I have an 1872 Longhorn 8.5' buggy with an ambulance pulling horse and the ultra rare 2 seater Corvette option carriage!

Its just a parts buggy though. Too much wood rot in the cab, arrowhead holes everywhere, and some jackass put a hole in the top for a retractable buckskin moonroof!

It really needs to have more then 1 horse. Its too big for just one...needs to have 4.

48" Torq Thrusts are so 1999. I went with the new 56" TTO's with 105/85ZR56 Nittos. I went ahead and upgraded the power plant to ambulance spec for more, um, HORSEpower!

Dang it, if I'd known they offered them with a chrome horse I would have gotten that instead of the Chevy Orange one.

You didn`t see any rust from the road?You could see rust (that isn`t there) in my wrecker in a picture from two states away.

Now I know why you thought the wrecker wasn`t worth it if you think a rustfree `72 Stepside in mint condition [(except paint)which means not mint] is worth $500.I`d be out of arm`s reach or ready to duck before I made that offer

.There`s always the chance when offering such a below value price that there will be no dealing beyond that.Get us pictures and an accurate description and we`ll go from there,mmmk?

Thanks for the photo shop that really helped me get a better feel for this ride potential wonder how hard it would be to lay frame with that bad boy and how to tuck the wheel to make it happen
