gauge problems

I have a 65 chevy 4x4. I am having problems with my gas gauge, it bounces al over the place. The sending unit was replaced and the wires seem to be ok. I'm not sure about the ohms and what not. Need help please!

jsatter04, it is probably your fuel gauge. Does it jump around when you are sitting still, like when you first turn on the ignition? Or does it jump around while you are traveling? If it does it while sitting still you can check your gauge by removing the center wire to the sending unit and grounding it out and turning on the ignition. The needle should peg all the way to the full side of the gauge with no movement. If the needle jumps around it is probably the gauge but could still be the wiring grounding out some where.
