Surging Problem
I was driving my truck tonight and it was running fine. After a half hour drive I pulled into a parking lot and it started surging real bad and died. I thought that it could have been the fact that it was warm, I didn't have a lot of gas in the tank causing it to vapor lock on me. I filled it up with gas and drove it home with no problem until I pulled into the driveway and it did it again. This is the first time that it has done this. Do you think that it could be something else or do you think that it vapor locked on me again. I will say that it doesn't seem to keep up as much oil pressure after it heats up and I am sitting at a light or going slow through town. Thanks for the help.

Re: Surging Problem
Check your float level could be sticking or to high.

Re: Surging Problem
Is your gas cap venting? When pressure builds up in a sealed tank, it will start to push fuel into the carb, but it's not really noticable when you're driving, it's when you let off of the gas that it starts to flood. Just an idea.

Re: Surging Problem
Could be as simple as a fuel filter...

Re: Surging Problem
I was driving my 67 yesterday and it was running like crap, really hard to keep it at an idle, surging but still some what manageable to drive. When I got home I popped the hood and the pvc hose had came off. Took it out for a spin and it ran Perfectly! Hopefully its as simple as that. Good luck

Re: Surging Problem
Sounds like you picked up some trash under your needle valve.
