Motor mount and other questions
I just painted and was going to re-install the motor mount tower brackets back in the truck. My problem is, that when I sand blasted the mounts, the old marks where they were lined up are gone. All the bolt holes are slotted, so I'm having second thoughts about tighting them as if I'm off, the motor and trans mounts won't line up. Anyone have anything on this?
Also, I bought some new, lower seals for my lower a-frame shafts from LMC, but they look nothing like the old ones. Anyone buy them from LMC and use them? Thanks.

Put them in but don't tighten them up. When you put the engine and tranny in ( I am assuming they are not in the truck), line everything up and then tighten all of the bolts up..

Not a bad suggestion, cept when you think about trying to adjust the mounts within the slots and a 550 lbs motor sitting on top of them. I'll try though.
Anyone with suggestions on the seals?

It's real easy once you put a floor jack under the oil pan and take the weight off them. Be sure to spread the weight out with a solid piece of wood so you don't crush the pan.

I am sure you are using an engine hoist. Just leave it hooked up untill you have it set in place. Don't put a floor jack under the oil pan and if you do put a nice piece of plywood on the jack first just in case the jack wants to collapse your oil pan.

I used a piece of 2x8 that was bigger than the lower part of the pan. My engine was already installed, I just wanted to replace the PO's motor mount adapters with the correct perches. I was also changing the pan, so I didn't worry much about denting it. It didn't seem to hurt it at all.
