A/C serpentine system on my 83
Question: I noticed you said you just sunk some $$ into your A/C and i was wondering if you could share your wisdom with me. Im putting a new engine in my '80 and because im switching to a serpentine system and my stock A/C doesnt work anyway I figured i would redo it all.
Did you buy and assemble everything and let the shop charge it or did they do everything? If you did the assembly where did you get your parts and what model compressor, accumulator, etc. did you get? I bought the serpentine brackets and bolts off ebay. Original equipment used on my truck: condensor, evaporator. Both cleaned an flushed with A/C flush or isopropyl alcohol. Original equipment purchased new: orfice tube. accumulator, pressure switch New parts: A/C compressor for a 94 truck, custom made hoses (local shop) I installed all the parts except the compressor. The A/C guy filled it with oil and R134. Used 3 -R134 cans. It can cool down to 52 degrees going down the highway. Posted a few pictures of the custom cut hoses. http://good-times.webshots.com/slide...63305239VTckih |
