Re: Engine Detailed

Looks great!! I'm not being an a$$, so don't take this wrong. You sent it out to get detailed? What do they do when they detail an engine? Is it something that a hobbiest like us couldn't do? How do you even go about finding an engine detailer? How much does something like that cost ? Again, it looks really good, and I'm not knocking any of your abilities. I've just never heard of sending out an engine to get detailed and I am curious about it.

Re: Engine Detailed

jorgensensc, No problem I do not have alot time to work on my truck and detail the engine. So I employeed a guy here in town that works on hot rods and he does alot of different things and one them is detailing engines when he did this he replaced seals, gaskets, water pump, timechain etc. Sense this was a low mileage engine he did not see it needing a rebuild. So he just refreshed the engine and tranny. $475 to me it was well worth it now all I have to do is drop it in.

Re: Engine Detailed

Ahh okay. Now I understand!! I thought you meant that someone cleaned and painted it for you, made it look pretty so to speak. Now I get it. Sure I could definitely see having someone replace all the seals and button it back up for you nice and neat if you don't have the time. Makes perfect sense now. Great looking engine again!

OMG... that is beautiful!!!

Now the tough decision, which truck are you going to bring to Riverside in September...

Any pics of the GMC? If the motor looks like this, I can only imagine what the truck will look like.

That is beautiful. I like what Chip Foose says about how the front of a vehicle is the jewelry box and the engine is the diamond ring inside.

Re: Engine Detailed

Looks GREAT Andrew. I see you lost the original air pump set up and plugged the exhaust ports. The air pump set up probably paid for the spruce up. Thanks for the heads up I missed this post. Mark
