Just paid my Registration, just curious what do you pay ??

I just sent out my $79 to the CA DMV for my dues. Cheap compared to my '05 Honda.

My insurance costs me $56 4 times a year, not too bad I guess.

Hey at least I got it !!

I was just curious as what other people in Cali and other states are paying.

Later...

Re: Just paid my Registration, just curious what do you pay ??

Well, I paid about $77 for my truck and the Chevelle this year.

Much cheaper than the newer cars we have. I swear, I may just get rid of the new and keep the old. Update them and drive 'em.

Re: Just paid my Registration, just curious what do you pay ??

I think my tags were ~$260, and they're good for 5yrs, collectible car plates... so no smog checks, woo hoo! Insurance on the truck (via Snake Farm) is $6/mth including collision, glass, comprehensive and roadside assistance. They have it classed as a 'collectible,' which supposedly makes the rate plummet, I guess because it's not a daily driver.

$25 or so (and the tag was $20) so the ad valorum was $5. At least state of GA doesn't think these trucks are worth very much. And no emissions on older vehicles either so that's good

around $40 for my tag, and under $300 a year insurance. i don't want "special" tags, because they put mileage restrictions on them.....I wanna drive it!

Re: Just paid my Registration, just curious what do you pay ??

Mine would be about $40 to register it with regular plates, but I got a special "route 66" plate so it was around $90 the first time. My insurance is around $35 a month.

Re: Just paid my Registration, just curious what do you pay ??

My renewal if I were to do it was $65 this year. I don't have insurance becuase I am working on it but if I were to have it, it would be about $190 for 6 months because of multi car discounts and such. After I get the truck done I don't plan on driving it to much and will probably go with a Grundy's type insurance and insure it for $20,000 for probably $250 a year. I am sure that has changed..

Just sent in my $3 (yes three!) a couple months ago. Classic plate. Good for three years for $1 per year cuz they are a limited use registration for shows and parades only, but we all drive our junk every day any way.

$7 for Non-Op for four months - then $76 last week at AAA, with a new "April" tag too - as the idiot that stole my truck ditched my rear (original plate), and I still had the front one under my seat when I got her back.

I feel like a winner

In Ohio. You pay, in my county, 6% tax when you buy it. period.

Then if it has Ohio Historical license plates, you pay $16. one time, no matter how long you own it.

And if you sell it, you can transfer those plates for $5.00

Like I said...I feel like a winner, or weiner...whatever

ya sounds like you won so far
Mine is still black tagged and under construction and being 23 with a couple of tickets in the past the best thing about buying legal stuff for the truck (by meaning insurance/tag) is the tag $12.50

Re: Just paid my Registration, just curious what do you pay ??

my overall insurance bill dropped when I added my 68... they told me that I should get special coverage though due to its age.... they won't give me $500 for it ya know...

tags are another question... only about $40 here in PA I think, haven't tagged it yet... If it's tagged as an antiqe then it's exempt from inspections... so I here, i've only lived in PA for two years though...

Re: Just paid my Registration, just curious what do you pay ??

Mines 4 dollars a year in Md for a "K" tag. It was only 3 last year but i can afford 8 bucks for 2 years. K tag is a type of farm tag that your only allowed to be 10 miles from your farm but i havent found a cop the knows that yet.

Re: Just paid my Registration, just curious what do you pay ??

I paid $56 dollars for my tags, which doesnt have any restrictions. I can drive into any state or be as many miles away from home/farm.

The price includes the new sticker which is renewed yearly and validates your tires to touch the government pavement. Vehicles made prior to 1975 dont require smog inspection in cali.

adding the truck to my current insurance policy was like and additional 15 per month. Been with statefarm forever. Carries same full coverage as my other vehicles.

Re: Just paid my Registration, just curious what do you pay ??

I've yet to pay reg for this year but it is due end of next month.

Here is the breakdown of whats required in CA - for me anyway:
Reg Fee: $44
License Fee: $5
Weight Fee: $80
Special Plate Fee: $0
County/District Fees: $10
Owner Respsibility Fee: $0
Total of all Fees: $139

I recall that in 1984 it only cost me a total of $24 to register my showroom condition 64 Impala $$. How times have changed....

Insurance is $89 3 times a year via GEICO - for liability only. Will be adding full coverage soon.

Re: Just paid my Registration, just curious what do you pay ??

in my stretch of FL on my 91 Suburban, it is about $400 per year insurance (due to required PIP and certain minimums) and tags/registration is $43 (after all "extras" are added) each year per vehicle. It is the same cost for tags for our 04 Dodge, and full coverage insurance is about $750 per year on it.
