Back from the paint shop
Well she's back.. here's some pics but it's dusk outside so it's not showing how bright the color really is (maybe I'll add a shot or two tomorrow).
One Piece Windows (no triangle) shaved sidemarkers, bed rail holes front LED turn signals in headlights (& LED taillights) gas tank in back shaved fiberglass cowl going to grey interior as I already have grey seats, dashpad, etc.. will probably paint dash grey too. Then some nice shiny 18in wheels and she'll be done... if there's ever such a thing Last edited by Mondo; 07-17-2008 at 11:33 PM. |

Re: Back from the paint shop
looks great!! I dont want to get too personal, but if you dont mind what did it cost you to have it painted-ballpark.. Here in okc its hard to find a shop that will even mess with my truck, and then they want to charge me time & half hour labor...
Looks great!

Re: Back from the paint shop
Thanks for the compliments guys...
I told them I wanted Torch red... that it was corvette's bright red. When I picked it up I asked for the year car and color so that I could buy a touch up stick somewhere and they told me it was just Chevrolet Bright Red.. he gave me this spec "WA8774 Formula" if that helps. They buffed it out and it looks pretty bright in the sun. I think I got a pretty good deal;there wasn't a lot of body work to be done (no rust) but it involved shaving the holes (I gave them Infiniti's patches), painting the bed and interior black except the dash (as it takes a bit of labor to dissemble the steering column, stereo etc..), took off windows/doors/bed/hood, hooked up my LED headlights, installed the one piece windows.... all for under $3500. I didn't bug them as it took 2 months instead of 1 (some insurance jobs took precedent)... I think that's why I got a little extra done as I didn't request the bed painted and he threw in the interior paint. I think they enjoyed doing a classic truck for a change of pace. If your in Bakersfield and interested in the shop, PM me. Last edited by Mondo; 07-18-2008 at 12:26 AM. |

Re: Back from the paint shop
We just finished mine. We took a fuel door and neck from a jeep cherokee from the salvage yard and cut it into the bedside
