some 15 x 8 wheels! PICS

So I finally hooked up with Adam (whatnow) and picked up some 15x8 wheels for my junk. First, I need to tell you how patient this guy is.... and he is a super cool guy!

So anyways, I picked up the wheels about a week or so ago from another member that was using them and went out and picked up the caps yesterday.

Here are a few photos, she is on her way... I need to order some fat whites and do some suspension mods and she will be done for now. The truck sits about 2.5 - 3" lower and I need to level the front.....

Let me know what you think!

EDIT: Does anyone know if I can put trim rings on these wheels and are there certain ones that will fit?

I've never seen red caps on a chrome wheel, its usually a red wheel with a chrome cap. I like it, its different. Do the 15's rub the lower control arm with the drop spindles? Im thinking of going with a similiar look on my truck.

I know, that's why I went with red caps to give it a litte ldifferent look, if I can find some, I'm going to get some red trim rings to.

I don't have drop spindles, just a modified front end with drums, but no they don't rub at all. I can drop the front another 3", the front was set-up for the 20's that were on it, so I have a little more room.

Red rings faked =)

I seldom sound off if there is something about a persons ride that doesnt work for me because we all have different tastes, but "to me" the red caps sorta cheapens the look of your ride. Maybe an early Chevy chrome cap with the little Chevy bow tie painted red?

Nice work Houp!

As far as the question about the trim rings, check with lolife99. He knows quite a bit about ralley wheels/trim rings.

I think it looks unfinished, I still need to get some fat whites and trim rings if I can find some.

You may should be able to blast a set of regular stainless trim rings and paint/powercoat them. Paint probablay won't stay on them without blasting, but powercoating probably would. You can usually buy new takeoff 15" trim rings on Ebay cheap.

Looking at the way the wheel is shaped, I'd think so.

Are the wheels standard backspace. It could be my aging eye sight, but they look light what we used to call "Chrome Reverse". Either way they look good.

How about painting the wheel centers red and leave the cap and outer rim chrome? Then there is no need for a trim ring

I like that idea. then have them rebalanced at the tire store using the stick on weights on the inside of the wheel instead of the pressed on lip scratching ones on the outside.

Yes, definitly. I don't like the weights on the outside of the wheel, I need to get new tires regadless.

www.summitracing.com has trim rings and free shipping. They're stainless steel, so getting them powder-coated in your choice of colors would probably be the only way to get them "in living color". The idea of using the colored caps with colored trim rings, and then seeing your truck in black with the outline flames makes me curious to see a "negative" image.

I'm curious too... I don't know what they will look like with fat whites either, I'm anxious to find out. Worst case, I can paint the wheels and do the traditional style.... but Day-um, those trim rings are a little steep, I need to try and find some used ones.
