Window regulator question
I few months ago I removed the innards from my doors and cleaned and lubed everything. I may have lubed the regulator too well, because when the window is down and I go over bumps, the glass tends to raise up 1-2 inches. Any suggestions?

Re: Window regulator question
Do both windows raise up when going over bumps?

Re: Window regulator question
I agree, sounds backwards. I've had mine want to drop a little on bumps. Simple fix was to take the crank handles off and put them back on with the knob down when the window was at the top.

Re: Window regulator question
On the regulator mechanism there is a steel "tab" that keeps the large curve rack gear aligned with the crank pinion gear. Over time that "tab" fatigues and allows the gears to slip. Cleaning them and greasing seems to make it worse, I know it did for me. 2 options; use a "C" clamp and bend that tab back into place. It doesnt need to move much. If that doesnt work, a new regulator may be in order.
