Re: core support???

No selling on the truck boards, only on the parts board.
You say you aren't trying to sell, yet you provide a price, location, and contact info.
THAT makes it a parts for sale, period.

Re: core support???

travis, a 67/68 core support is what you'll need, and then replace the headlight buckets. If getting a used one, look carefully for damage. If the support is tweaked, then it can be hard to impossible to aim the headlights.

Re: core support???

Travis did you decide if that chevy front clip was good to use yet? If you use the 67-68 chevy clip you can just use the core suport in it or if you are going back GMC you can use the inner fenders. front quarters and use the core support from that one to tranfer over your lighting brackets. Just leaving you to gind a new grill and top bar and eyebrow pieces

I have been looking all over and cant find the thread on how to take off a front clip in one piece for him if I remember right it was a great one to follow

Re: core support???

won't know till you try. I tore my old longhorn's front clip off in one piece, and it was 10 times worse than yours. It was an honest to god total.
And no need to take the hood off, the first step on that thread.

Re: core support???

I have a GMC core support but getting it NC would be a little pricey. You could come and pick it up for free! LOL

Re: core support???

I got the ol truck home and it did great but it was a sob to get it to run because the battery died so right now its on life support(battery charger). There is a guy near where I stay at and has a GMC the grill is black colored I thinking that it is a 1972 model. I can use the whole front end and the bed front piece also and maybe make some good patch panels out of the rest of the truck. But the guy that owned it died last friday, there was a woman that went to my job and asked was I still interested in it and I told her yes I was, I gave her my cell number but she never contacted me. I hope I can get my fingers on it it is a dark blue with hardly any rust on the body, The seats look good but I dont like them, they kinda look like a rug to me. The steering wheel has nearly rotted off.

Re: core support???

Travis so did you abandon the idea of using the chevy front clip? I quess if she will run you have time and the Chevy isnt going anywhere. Give her another week and if you dont hear from her stop buy and be real nice and understanding she could have lost your cell phone number with all thats going on.

Did those front clip instructions make sence to you they look pretty good to get the job done with 2 people on it.

The chevy truck looks weird as in 2 head lights instead of 4 and the hood is rusty. Its goin to be weird if a cop pulls me and asks WTF are you driving a "REAL" Generic Made Chevy. My aunt said I need to quit wasting money in it, That truck saved my life that sucker was running a good 55 to 60mph to give me a lick that bad. as for the instuctions seem easy with 2 or 3 people I think I need to sweet talk them. Today I asked Ronald has he ever seen a truck get hit like that and to keep on clickin' and he said "No"
