Emblem removal
i am wantin to know how to take off the Silverado emblems on the fenders of my 79 so i can prep it for paint. how are they taken off?

I used "trot-line" to remove mine, there is a little piece that sticks through the fender to hold it in place. mine was glued in place, I have heard that some use a nut on the backside of the plastic inside the fender.

unless they have been taken off and reinstalled a different way there is nuts on the back which can only be accessed by removing the fender.I always just cut them off with a good putty knife and hammer then just glue them back on

I don't trust in glue, you have to remove the nuts of the emblems.... This is easy, I installed mine like this..You have to take off the door and then remove the bolts of the fender (check the pic)and pull it to insert your hand and take off the nuts... you can paint the truck and repeat the process to re-install the emblem
