1966 Bel Air 2 door frame
I have a1966 Bel Air 2 door post car. I was hoping to do some frame work on it . I was hoping to avoid taking it of the car and just work on a a frame of another car I was wondering if any 1966 impala hard top or convertable would be the same or do I have to find a 1966 Bel Air to work on.
Thanks for any help |

It has been a while since I sold my 65 Impala SS, but 65-66 are for sure the same, all except for stationwagons. It might even include the 67-68 body style also. My frame was weak behind the front wheels and just infront of the rear wheels.

A convertable frame should have more support in it. I agree with the guys above 65-66 should be the same, BelAir or Impala.

Normal 1965-66 cars shared the same frame and even the same part number except the convertible and taxi.
1965-66 #3881649 1965 taxi #3861853 1965 convertible #3864767 1966 convertible #3886485 The convertible frames were "boxed" and also had 2 or more extra body mounts. I have no info on what wagons used.
