Does anyone know if a stepside tailgate from a 47-54 would work on a stepside bed from a 67-72?

Any info is appreciated.

1954+ beds and tailgates are different from the previous years (1947-'53). The chassis for the 47-53 is different from the '54 as well. Somthing I learned the hard way. My SB 47-53 chassis had to modified to fit my '54 bed.

47-53 tailgates are a lot smaller than 54 and up tailgates. 54 tailgate will work and is the same as 67-72, but 47-53 will not fit your truck.
