Remanufactured front fender question

I've searched this out and my conclusion is that all front fenders (69-72 chevy) that we buy new from site venders are all the same. Meaning they all come from the same overseas location. So it doesn't really matter who you buy from. Correct?
Thanks for your input.

Re: Remanufactured front fender question

Wrong we know of 5 separate manufacturers of just the front fenders and there may actually be more,
Tri-Plus , DynaCorn
Apex
Gordon
Cheng-Shin
Listed in the order we consider there quality to be, with Tri-Plus & DynaCorn ranking basicly even.

Re: Remanufactured front fender question

PS- If you see a Goodmark, LMC, Counter Parts, Classic Industries, etc..... label on box its just one of the 5 manufacturers fenders boxed with there company Logo on it instead of the manufacturers logo.

Re: Remanufactured front fender question

Tri-plus is as good as any I've seen and goodmark tends to carry them as well as many of the board supporters. Check with them as they help support the board, so I try to support them, especially if they are close and you save on shipping! The crap they sell at the cheapy body parts places are junk, thin and not stamped correctly (all makes is one place and I am sure there are others). Basically if they are selling fenders for $75 they are not too good, but some places sell those same $75 fenders for $200 so do not use the price as a guide, I just was using the cheaper is rarely better motto in this area.

Re: Remanufactured front fender question

Very interesting.
Well, I have bought from GMCPaul before. I was very happy with the quality of the sheat metal.
Maybe I'll just order both fronts from GMCPaul.
? Tomorrow.

Re: Remanufactured front fender question

If you have worked with them and are happy, no sense and trying someone else. I heard and read from a lot of folks they were all the same, but had seen both ends of the spectrum in fenders, so I knew better. Just didn't know the specific manufactures until about 8 years ago, now I am careful to get tri-plus when possible.

I believe goodmark is a retailer of tri-plus, so they should be tri-plus unless tri-plus doesn't make that part. I have seen paper stickers on my tri-plus metal, but that isn't 100%. Did the gate have any stickers on it out of the box? If not call and ask, they don't try to keep it a secret because we can't buy from tri-plus direct and the fact that tri-plus is the standard in repop metal they are happy to tell you if that part is tri-plus.

BTW every goodmark part I have ever bought has been good quality, heavy guage and I am very satisfied. Some of our vendors carry the goodmark stuff (just reboxed tri-plus).
