Re: Craigslist 472 Caddy engine

after lookin at the add... 3 bills for an engine that needs rebuilt is a bit high IMO. I can get running ones for that around here.

They are out there. I see at least 2 or 3 cars with them everytime I go to a junkyard.

LA junkyards don't represent what's in the junk yard in the rest of the US.
Not tryin to sound like a punk, but it's true. If we had 1/10th of the cool stuff you guys had, we'd be thrilled.

Re: Craigslist 472 Caddy engine

Org. post was east Texas...

Ohio, LA???
Here in Texas, its kind of the worst of worlds. HOT! (motors burn up w/o oil), Hard on engines, and wild drivers.

Not to step on you LHM, but Texas is out of your opinion range... Then again, you usually have an opinion that works.

Re: Craigslist 472 Caddy engine

huh? I have no clue what you are saying.
If you look at the post above mine, it was from pont406, who lives in LA.
My comment was to him, that LA junkyards do not represent what is in the normal ju nkyard anywhere else in the US.... etc.

I don't know what you are saying about texas being out of my opinion range... I don't understand that one bit.
I lived there for almost 7 years, I know all about texas, got out as soon as they let me becouse i couldn't stand it honestly... but that's MY opinion.

Not yet... still building the truck around it.

My C/K project, I think... still waffling over that.

No roller cam, that's another K that I don't want to spend.

Re: Craigslist 472 Caddy engine

My uncle junk this early sixties caddy on the 4TH of July weekend. It had a 500 cid engine. He was gonna save it but it hasn't been ran since 1983. I couldn't get the hood open to take pics.
