SEMA truck?

Hi all,
The pictured truck is claimed to be a 1 of 2 special built/equipped trucks for an early 90's SEMA show. I haven't got any more information about it yet, like which year it is, if there is any documentation to it and so on.

I wonder if anyone on here could say if it might be a "real SEMA truck" and if so, would that add anything to the trucks value?

I might be offered to buy this truck.

Thanks in advance.

Re: SEMA truck?

I have built several trucks for SEMA. Like the one in my avatar and others on my website www.MarkBarbee.com . It does NOT make the truck any more valuable. It can make the truck sell faster. Unless you win a HUGE award at SEMA, it really does not make a difference. If that truck was at SEMA, ask for a picture at SEMA and the name of the company who used it. I hope that helps.

LMDGUY and YOLO;
Thanks guys for your replys, it really helps a lot.

GKsport67:
That speedo is from a truck sold new here in Sweden, they had that Kilo speedo (option U18) from the factory.
Maybe hard to see in that tiny avatar pic but if you look close it says KPH and not MPH.

Re: SEMA truck?

68 50th..... were is that truck located? It looks like it might be here in Arizona. If it is close to me I can go check it out for you and take any pictures. The truck could have problems that the guy is not telling you about either. That style of truck is not popular in the states.

YOLO: That’s correct, I believe the truck is located in Tempe, AZ. A friend of mine here in Sweden moved to Tempe a couple years ago. He lives in Tempe in the winter and here in Sweden during the summer months. The truck was offered to him but he had no need for a truck so he mentioned it to me. It is actually he who has taken the pictures so I think he will do the checking for me if needed. Thanks a lot for the offer to help me check it out anyway.
The one selling the truck is the widow of the late owner.

I don't know who the builder is but I have asked about that and still waiting for the answer.
Yeah, I wouldn't mind having two homes like that myself but I don't have
THAT good of a job.
I will let you know if I find out more about the truck.

Re: SEMA truck?

You asked for the year it may have been built. The grille design is the same for GMC from '95 to '98, on pickups. They can be interchanged for earlier model grilles.

The dashboard says it is an '88-93.

OK, thank you for that information. I don't know much about the different grill designs on the GMC's but I can see the dashboard is the same style as in my 91 Chevy.

Re: SEMA truck?

I have an old issue with that truck in it. Possible it was on the cover even. Might have even been a Bell Tech add....I'll check tomorrow.
