Where to get my '70 weighed in AZ?

Just wondering, since it seems they never have the scales open at Firebird...I want to get my '70 weighed in, since I've done quite a bit of stuff to it since I last weighed it. So are there any places that wouldn't mind weighing an empty pickup? Especially if they're in Tucson or the southeast valley...the last place I had it weighed at was at Speedworld, but that's an hour drive or so from my dad's house and the scales were off to boot (friends who knew what their cars weighed got consistently off numbers)

one of your local truck stops will haaave a scale.I don't know how much they charge but a 12 pack to the right operator should get your truck weighed/.

I think the Pilot stations go for 7 bucks first weigh..only 2 bucks the next weigh. (it's been a while...but I THINK those numbers are right)

Really? I think there's one of those on the 10 between Phoenix and Tucson...plus, being at a station, I can top it off and know exactly how much to subtract for emptier fuel loads.

I use 2 or 3 of the local gravel pits. Just swing in and ask the scale operator. Most are so bored wsitting in their they run you right on. Most good truck stops are also equipped though they charge, and landfills and drop off stations as mentioned earlier are good sources.

I don't know about in Tucson, but in all the smaller AZ towns, there is a transfer station or dump nearby. They weigh you going in, weigh you going out, and give you a reciept with both weights. Subtract what you weight, and there you have it!

It will probably cost you a few bucks to dump some trash, but you're killing two birds with one stone!

A dump might work...heh...always have trash But the nearest one to either 'home' I know of is almost as far away as Speedworld...hmm...unless there's one in Coolidge somewhere, heh....

I'll just give the truck stops a shot on the 10.
