Talking The Ultimate "Man Machine"?

First of all, no offense intended to the ladies who own Blazers- I think the fact that you do puts you in a league of your own, but -

Yesterday I went to the hardware store. When I came out I noticed a guy standing near my Blazer just staring at it. You should know my paint is mismatched and 36 years old, but still...

So I mentioned it to my wife when I got home. My oldest daughter happened to be in the room, and she chimed in, "Every guy who comes to pick me up for a date asks me, 'Is that your dad's Blazer?' and they think it's the coolest thing ever. Even the ones that drive new BMWs and Lexus think it's cool. I guess it must be the ultimate guy machine."

I thought about it for a minute, and I guess she might just be right.

When I had my first 1st Gen, a '72 2wd, my buddy's girlfriend would always crack at us as we left the house, "Going out for a ride in the Guymobile again?"

Kind of a funny, related to this! When my brother gave me my 67 short step it had a sticker on the rear window: No Muff Too Tough (mienikee muffler shop)(sp?) I used to love that thing!! My Blazer is kind of a dude magnet, but I find an outdoorsy type lady will be attrackted to it as well!

Re: The Ultimate "Man Machine"?

it is odd on how these vehicles are not new nor "Rare". its just that we have simply put "style". there arent alot of low 90's BMW's Benz's Volvo's ect (luxury cars) people would be caught dead driving nowadays. and the newest ones seem to be Picked off a shelf and if anything Have some Rims SLapped on them and are called "Custom" wich sounds good but it doesnt fool anyone.

Theres basicly 2 catagories.

(chick magnets)
Shiny Big Elaborate Vehicles. (basicly jewelery look)
(dude magnets)
old and rusty but can be made into the above.

Re: The Ultimate "Man Machine"?

I get looks from both the chicks and dudes but the chicks never stop to talk, boohoo. Every time I'm out some guy comes up and at least asks what year it is. Normally they strike up some conversation about how they or their dad, etc. had one 20 years ago. When the wife is with me she always points out the ooglers. She secretly likes it, so I'm having second thoughts of her driving it
