Adding Moldings

I have a ½ ton 1972 LWB 4x4 Custom. I like the look of the body moldings on the Cheyenne or deluxe models. If I was to add these to my Custom model will it devalue or just be the wrong thing to do?? I hate to make a change that is out of the norm.

Re: Adding Moldings

No, any level of truck could be ordered with body side moldings. I have a CST, Cheyenne, Custom/10 and a regular C/10 that has body side moldings.

Re: Adding Moldings

First of all did you get the truck because you enjoy them? If this is the case then I would say make it the way you want it. If you really want the look with the side molding and dont want to worry about decreasing the value, then get some of the molding clips that attach with out drilling holes. I think Classic parts of America has them for both the upper and lower molding.

Upper clip http://www.classicparts.com/1969-72-...ctinfo/62-883/

Lower clip http://www.classicparts.com/1969-72-...ctinfo/62-885/

Re: Adding Moldings

Thanks for the replys. I like the idea of the no holes clips to try molding. I did not know that when new you could order diffrent levels of trim packages.

Re: Adding Moldings

Back in the day, we had options. Real options. Nowadays, we have option PACKAGES. Big whoop. Last vehicle I "built" was an '88 Astro. Spec'd it out like I wanted. No powerplant option. Only one transmission. Oh, I did get the F/R a/c, 3.42 Positrac and "sport" two-tone paint. What fun I had, huh?
