Look at the K5 I found on consignment at a Mercedes Benz dealer

I went looking for a crossover for my wife and look what they had. A 1972 K5 Blazer on consignment. Since its Sunday I don't know the price but I would be curious. My wife asked me "Why are you taking pics? I told her it is my duty to list this as a member of 67-72truck website, an unwritten code for us to list all K5 esp. at MB dealers Well anyway here it is, what do you all think? Any guess at price before I call tomorrow? It has one repaint, looks like he used it to go fishing at the coast or something.

Re: Look at the K5 I found on consignment at a Mercedes Benz dealer

Lots of after market and later model year add ons from the look.

Being it's at a stealership, I'd guess 15K and up.

Re: Look at the K5 I found on consignment at a Mercedes Benz dealer

The owner probably wants 9-10k while the dealer most likely wants to make 3-5k on the deal. Your right VT since its a MB dealership probably at 15K. Owner should just list it here or ebay. NOT a MB dealer. I may call tomorrow, the curiosity is getting to me

Re: Look at the K5 I found on consignment at a Mercedes Benz dealer

$13,500. I agree, the owner probably wants about 10k. Is it on consignment or a trade in? We bought my wife's 07 Tahoe from a MB dealer. They took it in on trade and didn't make much on it. Maybe 1-2k (it was still cheaper for us then all the other private sale Tahoes). They make their money on MB sale.
I'm curious now too. It looks good. Not big on some of those bolt ons, but still looks clean.

Re: Look at the K5 I found on consignment at a Mercedes Benz dealer

I've seen the blazer about town. I spoke to the owner a while back. His name is Roger and is a really nice guy. His Blazer is really nice too. He said he used to take it hunting in CO. It has a fuel injected 350 with a 700R4. Pretty much everything on it is custom. I dig the roof rack too. He owns a service shop on the south side. When I saw him driving it I thought, holy crap, that's what mine will look like if I ever get it running. Well, maybe not exactly like that, but if you look at my avatar you get mu point. I like the sliders on the topper too. I can't remember what he was going to sell it for. I hope it goes to a good owner who signs in on the board. Anyways, like seeing the San Antonio area crew growing. Later, Mario.

Boy those sliders are real hard to find. I really dig the roof rack too. Its kind of Safari style. Slots rock!! Winch, engine goodies. Looks real solid from the pics. I'll go $12,750.

I like the color. Don't care for the mirrors. He must have pulled a good size trailer, I see a addon trailer brake. The winch bumper is cool. You might be a little low on asking price. If he had someone build the blazer for him he has alot more money in it.

I wonder if that ac really cools down the whole interior. It seems my factory cools ok, but doesn't do a whole lot for the back seat.

Re: Look at the K5 I found on consignment at a Mercedes Benz dealer

If I know MB of Boerne, they want $20K+ for that thing! The wife and I used to take her CLK there for service before we traded it in. If you get a chance to look inside, they usually have a fully restored early 60s Vette and a late 60s GTO. Both are beyond perfect. I would always ogle over the consignment cars and embarrass her as much as possible. Here we are in the middle of all these snooty MB drivers walking around and I am busy drooling over the American Muscle. Anyway, I am interested to see what they are asking as well.

67Steven wins the prize, the price is $12995.00 but even at that price the salesman thought it was high. I almost told him... "cut your commission in half and you may sell it" Sorry hotrodhomi no more pics of the compressor but it is a Ford compressor I believe?

That'd be a fun one to fly in and drive home, having the later model drive train and all.

I thought it was a sanden (SP?) compressor when I first looked, I might be wrong.

Re: Look at the K5 I found on consignment at a Mercedes Benz dealer

LOL thats funny! The only thing I don't like about SA TX is about 2-3 months of unreal summer heat & humidity. Everything else is great around here. We never really got hit with the home crisis either, employment is good, etc... Not a bad place to live and raise kids. I live just outside SA, 10 min drive from the hill country and we love it. Take Care.

Not a Sanden, its a York. I have always refered to them as a "Ford style" compressor because they came on alot of the Fords back in the 70s-80s. IIRC that is

It is a york. I have one on my Blazer. I use it as an air pump for my suspension. Lots of guys use them for on board air.
