Mods that you REGRET doing (aka, what was I thinking thread)

Doesnt just have to be to our trucks. I just thought it would be a funny thread.

What modifications have you made that looking back on, you would have never done? Either it looked awful, you were following a fad, didnt work right, young, etc.

Its a pretty easy one for me... All the kids at my HS were putting strobes and neon on their cars and their vehicles were getting more attention than mine. Soo, I settled the score:

I dont have any more pics of it, but I put about 20 blue LED's inside the air filter mounted downwards, so the entire top of the motor glowed with a dark blue color. The interior had a 50" or so blue neon tube mounted on the rear shelf under the glass and above the tank, with a few cold cathodes placed underneath the bench in the front.

The whole thing lit up like a damn christmas tree. None of the bulbs were exposed and the girls liked it. But wtf was I thinking spending all that time on something like that? lol... Ugh.. the things we do in high school.

Those LED's looked good when I first saw them then...not so much.

I regret spray painting my VW when I was 13. It was sitting in the yard for 3 months, and I was bored. It was a gray car and I bought some chrome paint. Problem: only one side was exposed, I had never spray painted before. Needless to say, it all came off when we steam cleaned the car, but so did the original o
paint...

Installing 8 pont roll bar in my car. Local track closed down and I am kinda lost interest in it now.

Re: Mods that you REGRET doing (aka, what was I thinking thread)

I wish I have NEVER put a v-8/700R4 in my truck. I wish I had installed my dad's rebuilt 250 he had (my truck had a 250 in it at that time that was running ok, but getting very "tired") and an NV3500 or NV4500 tranny.

The V-8 and tranny swap cost way more than I had planned it to and I'm on my second 700R4.
