305E V6 Carb.

Does anyone know a place where you can buy a carburetor that fits a 1965 305E V6??

I had the stock carb on mine and it ran like..... well lets just say it didn't run very well. Rebuilt it, very simple, it it still ran like.... a turd. Bought a 500cfm Holley two barrel from Jegs, made my own adaptor plate for the intake and the thing has run great ever since. The whole upgrade is on 6066gmc guy site if youre interested. Jegs also has an adaptor plate I believe.

The 500 Holley is the way to go on these engines, the stock carb really is a turd. Here's the link:

Which adapter on that site do i use? It shows some 305's but not the 305E on the site.

Also what spring return mount do i use??

You'll want the Mr. Gasket 720-1937, it's the only one I know of that's still available commercially. The 305E has the rectangular pattern to the carb mounting bolts, 351Es and Magnum engines had a trapezoidal pattern. I used the throttle return spring mount that was used with the old carb. I guess a chrome one might be prettier.
