another hubcap question

Hey all, I've got a 71 3/4 ton custom camper I initially put pics up of a few weeks ago. It has hubcaps for the front wheels, but not the rear. They have ochre colored bowties in the middle (same color as the truck). I assumed the caps were stock, as the whole truck is just about stock and has only 60K miles on it. I've seen some recent posts, but haven't been able to exactly figure out if they are stock. Can anyone post pics of the hubcaps I need? Are front different from rear? Thanks for any help!

Chris

Re: another hubcap question

Ochre color on the hubcap is the giveaway that it is not correct. 69-72 used a blue bowtie on hubcap. The 69-72 chrome hub is notoriously weak, they dent and crack very easily. The very similar stainless 73-75 cap can be painted blue. The flat aluminum 76-87 type is totally incorrect and doesnt match design of truck.

And are the 73-75 caps any cheaper than the 69-72? I found a set of 69-72 but the guy wanted $235...ouch!

Re: another hubcap question

actually, factorystock had something backwards.
69 - 72, were blue, but they were stainless.
in 73, they went to the yellow bowtie.
The early 73 - 87's were stainless, they later went to chrome.
In 76 or so, the hub cap style chainged all together

Re: another hubcap question

Cool, thanks for the info. I actually like the yellow bowtie, as it matches my truck..but it's obviously not stock. I don't know what I'll do...non-stock caps, stock caps, no caps, new wheels...probably all of them at one time or another!
