Now , for what ever the reason 2 hi and 4 hi are fine but I can only partialy engage low range it goes in enough to think you are in and then it pops out when you put a load on it............the linkage seems fine and nothing in that area was affected when I crashed. For some reason it is like the front axle is engaging (that part of the shifting) but the low range will not go in.
Any ideas?

I feel realy dumb! I went out there about a half hor after posting this and couldn't for the life of me figure out what could have hurt that 205 transfercase...the things are beasts!

As it turns out this is the first time I went to engage it today to pull against the tree with and I discovered that the lever couldn't travel fully to get full engagement because of the boot that i didn't account for when i mounted it after the trucks floor mat was put in............
works just fine after i pulled the screws out that hold the boot down!!!

I am emberaced!

I wish all fixes were this easy................maybe my blunder wil help someone else.
