Re: swaping 700r4 for th350?

that depends on the th350 they made them in a short (6 inches) and long tail ( i forget how long that is 9 or 11 inches) if its the same length as the 700 then it will go right in

It will bolt up to the engine fine. You'll have to drill new holes in the frame for the x-member if I remember correctly. The 350 trans mount is about an inch closer to the front of the vehicle than the 700r. Also, you'll need the proper kickdown cable and TC. You'll worsen your fuel mileage.

Re: swaping 700r4 for th350?

We took a 700 out of a work truck because it would dump all the tranny fluid every couple of years. Replaced it with a 350 and ran it for years with no problem. You'll just lose your overdrive.

Re: swaping 700r4 for th350?

I need to pass for the time being. Looks like I need to either relocate the trans mount (and therefore adjust both driveshaft lengths) or move the engine mounts forward. Neither one is really in the plan for now.
