ECM-IGN Fuse

The ecm-ign fuse, on my son's '91 GMC started blowing today. What is the best thing to start with, or is it most likely the fuel pump the reason for it blowing? It will run from a couple of mins. to maybe 10-15.Of course if you put in a higher rated fuse, then it lasts a bit longer. Thanks!!!!

Re: ECM-IGN Fuse

I don’t have a schematic for a 1991 but here are some other possible items they may be on the ECM-IGN fuse.

Ignition spark control
EGR
Some RWAL circuits – Brake switch

I would look for chafed wires on the wiring to the Spark control module and EGR solenoid under the hood on the bracket over the middle of the passenger side valve cover.
