ID this part
Can anyone tell me what this part is? I'm 99.7% sure it came off the back half of my '72 C10 (leaf spring rear). Gathering up parts to clean and paint and can't remember where this goes. Oops!
Thanks, Brent

Re: ID this part
that holds the brake hose and devider block (for lack of a proper name) to the rear axle. The normal bolt on the left of the photo goes in the axle, on the diff cover parimeter... upper passenger side ir memory serves, and the hollow bolt goes through the hose into the block... again, if memory serves.

Re: ID this part
Wow! That was quick. Now ... anyone have a picture of what it looks like when properly installed?

Re: ID this part
It's coming back to me -- that stud (on the left in the picture) replaces one of the rear end cover bolts, right?

Re: ID this part
exactly.
If you look at the cover, you'll see the outter edge of the metal is 'flaired out' (again, for lack of better/proper terms) and there is one spot that is cut away. That's where this goes, and it is folded towards the front of the vehicle... over the top of the axle. |

Re: ID this part
Got it -- thanks! Finally, a part I can clean, paint and install. Most of my work has been (and continues to be) tearing stuff apart. The rearend is the only thing that is actually back together, more or less. Still need to install the brake lines, which is where this part comes into play.

Re: ID this part
Excellent -- thanks! Those pictures will really help when I'm trying to get everything back together. Hopefully that will happen before the snow flies here. (Just hoping to get the chassis rolling again, not finish the whole truck!)
