I have an electric fan on my '67 (presently a mild 350). It has a Griffin 4 core aluminum radiator. The electric fan works great. It's a"pull type" (set up behind the radiator) on an adjustable thermostat. Works great! I don't have pictures, but I'm not done tucking the wiring away anyway - so it's not "pretty".

I'm sure somebody else here has one with pictures. Don't be intimidated. It's not that big of a deal.

Hay Blazerman. I wish I had that much room between my engine and fan. Are your motor mounts in the stock location. Mabey mine has been moved. I dont have much room between my engine and radiator. Im trying to fit a fan now out of a mid 90's camaro. Its only 6'' deep and I have to move it to one side of the radiator or the other. It will not fit in the middle, hits the water pump pulley. I'm thinking about putting it in front of radiator. Mabey I'll look for a smaller one.

His truck is a 4x4 Blazer. The engines are mounted in the 6 cylender possition, that is about 2" behind the V-8 possition. You should have plenty of room for the fan shroud and assembly unless someone installed a long water pump. The high point of the duel 12" fans is not in the center where your water pump is located. They are to the left and right of it. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

I havent been into the 4x4 trucks, but on the 2wd trucks mounting the v8 on 6 /250 stands gives right at 3 1/2" set back from factory v8(smallblock) position......

Thanks for the info WES, I do have a long water pump on my truck. I'm thinking about putting the fan in front of the radiator. It looks like theres enuff room between the a/c evaporator and the radiator. Has anyone done this? Will it still cool like it should? Just a thought. It would really clean up the front of my engine.

Make sure that you get a fan that is designed to be a "pusher" rather than a "Puller" if you want to put it in front of the rad. Fans work great in the direction that they were designed to work in, if you just reverse the polarity so they spin in the other direction you will not move nearly as much air due to the shape of the blades. Some aftermarket fans are designed so that you can turn the fan blades around and convert them from push to pull. Other than that I don't see why it wouldn't work.

The only fan on my truck is a smallish electric puller that the previous owner installed (Came of a Japanese car!) haven't had any overheating problems yet but I may sort it out better in the future. (It ain't hot very often over here!)

I know directly of two other 67-72's in the UK and saw a third in the classifieds section of a specialist mag recently, all three are stepsides. I know one of the other guys does visit this board regularly. I'm sure that there must be others but I have only had mine for a year and so have only made it to a couple of shows/cruises.

You tend to see more earlier trucks over here, 40's to early 60's and later 70's to current. I even saw a barn fresh running 1917 REO for sale at a show recently. It seems that the late sixties/early seventies trucks are a bit neglected at the moment, good for me though as I paid a good price for mine.

Everybody that sees her does tend to fall for her though, I still have a big S**t eating grin on my face when I drive her through town and everybody stops and looks. Maybe it's on account of her being bright yellow and a little loud!
