windshield removal
whats the best way to remove the seal and windshield without breaking the glass. thanks

I second that. Even with a new rubber gasket, it's difficult to remove one of these windshields without breaking it. If your gasket is old and hard, forget it. Cutting the rubber is the only way.

Asked the same thing a couple of months ago, received good advise from all. Tryed to post the link, to my question, couldn't do it sorry. If you can go back I have a thread titled windshield removal also. My advise use the razor knife method, get new seal. I tryed to save my seal, not worth it.

Yeah, cut the seal with a utility knife around the inside of the window edge. Usually it's brittle and will begin to split once you start the cut and you can pull it along the window as it rips. Then you can carefully lift the window out forward.
Worked well for me using this method because you usually need a new seal anyway. |
