71 yellow formula???

Me and my painter went to the paint store today to get a sample of the 525 yellow for my 71. Their paint system could not match the code to anything they have and they ended up giving us 69 yellow which is not even close. This supplier is using the Matrix paint system.

So my question is does anyone have a paint code or formula for any of the modern paint systems/brands?
We are doing a single stage system.

I searched and found this but it does not really answer the question.

Thanks in advance!

Re: 71 yellow formula???

Hi,
I think my painter ended up with an excisting matching paint from the Glasurit system that he was using at that time.
I had a glove box door in original (525) grapefruit yellow to compare with. I can ask him which Glasurit paint code he used if you think that would help you in any way.

Re: 71 yellow formula???

Here is the color chart for that year. Single stage Centari code will be 5312A. My formula retrieval system isn't loading this morning. I will try and get the mix formula for you so you can take it to any DuPont supplier and get it mixed. Hope this helps! Jerry

Re: 71 yellow formula???

Thanks for the replies!
I think any information I can take in will help.
Of course the guy that owns the store we went to was not in on Saturday, he is very experienced and also can call the Matrix people on Monday. Their system came up with a green metalic for that color...

Any other input?

Re: 71 yellow formula???

I was mistaken about which brand my painter used on my yellow/white truck, i thought it was Glasurit which he used earlier but I asked him today and he said it was Sikkens.
However, the Sikkens codes are for the 525 Grapefruit Yellow: 437B3.
And for the 521 Frost White: 494B1.
He also said the codes came from the Colour map catalogue, whatever that means.

Re: 71 yellow formula???

Does anyone else have any information on this.
I know there are a lot more 525 coded trucks out there.

We are still having a tough time getting anything to match what I think is correct color.

I'm looking for a paint formula that will give me what is in this picture.

I can't match it to what is on the truck because it was repainted and is now faded or sanded off.

Thanks
Dan
