Re: Truck for sale, go ahead flame him..

Why flame just him? Seems like everybody that posts a truck for sale on Feebay and Craigslist thinks that their truck is more rare than any other truck ever made and is worth it's weight in gold. At least this truck is priced pretty well considering all the stuff it does have, even if it is not original to the truck.

Re: Truck for sale, go ahead flame him..

anybody is entitled to ask whatever price they want for their respective vehicle, car, cycle etc. Every seller has a buyer sooner or later.I have seen some ridiculous prices on certain items and have seen them listed over and over and over...some people dont really want to sell they are just testing to see if someone buys on impulse...Believe me I check over ten websites daily for hours at a time and I do see many listing that the owners have really bumped their heads....it is my alternative to watching porn...hehehehe

Re: Truck for sale, go ahead flame him..

After doing a little research on this, I came across information that says they DID put a big block in 4WD trucks...only in the C 30 models, which is what he is selling. Here is the link:

Linky no worky... yes on the BBC if listed as C30 = 2wd starting in 68, but I can tell you for sure that GM production ran K series trucks never had a bbc in between the frame rails until the mid to late 70's K models, I am not sure on the exact year but someone around here will know and chime in.

Re: Truck for sale, go ahead flame him..

Go to www.chevymania.com and follow the links to research suffix codes. It shows a 72 4WD with a big block 402 for suffix code THB. That linky should worky.

Re: Truck for sale, go ahead flame him..

i heard somwhere that they were conversions done by NAPCO iirc. i don't think that there were very many at all and were probably pretty pricey.

Re: Truck for sale, go ahead flame him..

What`s to flame on this truck? The seller doesn`t claim anything that it is not.He doesn`t say it`s original and he doesn`t say he converted a 2wd to a 4wd,which is obvious to me what he did.It seems worth the money. The 402 is original to the truck. It`s prolly a C/20 with later 1t parts.
The Napcos used Spicer front ends.It could be a C/30 Napco conversion. It would have drum brakes.I hade a `71 1t Napco.I guess they may have used Danas, too.Maybe it`s a Spicer and the seller thinks it`s a Dana.Dana/Spicer was one in the same at that point in time.

There were big blocks installed in 68-72 C-series trucks as an option. There were 10-20 K-series trucks 67-72.No 30-series,unless it was a conversion by Napco or Marmon-Herrington.
I see more bad information in these books than you can imagine.I haven`t bought a book yet that I didn`t find flaws in within a couple pages.
