Any issues with this motor?

I found a motor/tranny combo for sale in local ads. Its a 350 tbi/ 350 tranny out of an 88 van. Ad says motor was rebuilt last year. Any issues or problems installing this into my blazer? Should I grab anything else out of van (wiring, etc)

It will bolt right in, if you're using the TBI, grab as much of the engine wiring and computer stuff. I don't really know anything about EFI but I would grab as much as possible just in case you need it.

Re: Any issues with this motor?

Gotta get the ECU for sure but if you plan on an after market wiring harness, leave the old wires right there, you won't need em.

TBI requires an electric fuel pump, the van will have an in-tank pump.
You could do an elec. frame mounted pump and be fine.

You'll also need an O2 sensor bung welded into your exhaust system.

Great mod IMO, between the serp belt set up and the TBI, your light years ahead.

I believe that motor is a one piece rear main seal. You need to get the flywheel and I think the starter nose is different between the one and two piece seal motors.

Re: Any issues with this motor?

its probably not a huge horsepower motor i dont really know if it is a 350 tranny
but it would probably be just fine for a daily driver
if i remember right it will have some really long and squirly dipsticks (oil, tranny)that come way up to the core support of a van

Re: Any issues with this motor?

I'm completely guessing... But wouldn't an 88' van have a 700r4 (2wd) tranny??

Re: Any issues with this motor?

The ad says turbo 350 but who knows. He says the tranny is a little rough but he's throwing in a spare that "shifts" good.
