33's on stock ride?

Can you fit 12.5 x 33's on 71 blazer with stock springs and rims, or maybe 10.5 x33's or do you need a 4" lift?

Re: 33's on stock ride?

I ran 33 14.5 MT Baja Belteds on my Jimmy for awhile running 15x8 chrome spokes. The rubbed a little on the front springs when the wheel was cut all the way, and in the rear when the body rolled. You should have no problems with a 12.5 on an 8" wheel with 4.5" B/S, but a 10" rim would be better. Personally, I would consider running a 285 75 16 on an 8" rim with 4.5 B/S with no lift.

Re: 33's on stock ride?

thanks for the reply, would your suggested tire be a 15's instead of 16's"
mine are 15's i think that size still qualifies for a tire warranty.

Mine stock on 33X12.50X15s. Those are stock rallys off a 1987 Suburban. Same width and offset as any other '73 - '87 4X4 rally (15X8). They have never rubbed anywhere at all. This truck does not get really twisted up off-road, only mild wheeling.

Re: 33's on stock ride?

A 10" rim will stick out further, so it really wouldn't be better for running stock suspension.

Stick to an 8" wide wheel w/4" BS, it's the best all around fit for 33's & stock suspension.

Board member BobbyK wheels with that combo quite successfully.

Re: 33's on stock ride?

Here's my stock suspension '72 on 33x12.50's on 15x8 wheels and they fit fine. However, a 2.5" lift will be going on soon!!!

Go into "search" (top of page) and type in varying terms that coincide with the question, you'll get pages and pages of reading to sift through as this is one of those 'cycling' type of question's that come up often.

Welcome to the board.

Re: 33's on stock ride?

I have 15x8 wagon wheels with an unknown BS (I'm thinking it's around 3.75") wrapped with 32x11.50 Goodyear MT/Rs. Those do rub at full lock in both directions! The outer lugs on the tires are quite large, so keep that in mind when choosing tires. Just because the sidewall says it is a particular size does not mean it will spec out the same as another brand/style of the same size.

Re: 33's on stock ride?

I'm running 33-15.50 on 10" wheels and no lift. Yea they rub, but I needed to pull a fertilize buggy in wet pasture and that's the only mud tires I had! With no money for tires or lift I just let em rub.

Re: 33's on stock ride?

Now this looks rigth! had a bit of trouble at the tire shop. Power blew out so they could not get them balanced. After I get them balanced, I will put the rings and caps on. got firestone destinations 33 x12.5. no rubbing on the way home, have not really driven it yet. can't wait.

That is a sweet picture. It looks like it was taken a long time ago, like when it was new.
