Craigslist..

Has anyone ever had a problem with them flagging and deleting your posts without an explanation? They've done it to me twice in a week and it's getting aggravating..

Re: Craigslist..

Are you posting your ads in the proper section? When I surf CL, if I come across a incorrect post, I'll report it. I hate when people put car parts in the cars for sale section...and vice versa. It isn't a hard concept to grasp.

Well dang.. they ought to have a process to do that, though.. it's aggravating to have to repost a valid listing every two days..

Re: Craigslist..

I have seen this happen to a friend of mine for no apparent reason. My theory is that someone who wants whatever you are selling is flagging it so no one else can buy it. Another time I saw a four wheeler for sale that looked like a pretty good deal, but didn't appear to be a scam. I went back to look for the add so I could write down the phone number and it had already been flagged.

Doing that kind of crap is just wrong.. the people who run that site ought to have more control over that process.

Re: Craigslist..

It has happened to me several times. I was selling HID kits. Want to know what I think? There was someone else selling kits too...for a little more than mine. SO I think they were flagging out the competition. I have also had cars flagged with no rhyme or reason.

Re: Craigslist..

The only appealing thing about CL is "FREE". There are so many flakes. You cant even give anything away without a hassle.

Re: Craigslist..

its a very common thing on craigslist// some people see you as a threat or a competitor and flag because they feel they have exclusive rights to a territory or product//i've been flagged thousands of times in all areas posting wanted to buy ads for antique motorcycles sometimes the ads last less than 5minutes

the frustrating thing is you cant find out who or why ads are flagged

Re: Craigslist..

i saw some guy getting flagged last week, and then at the top of his post, he put "PLEASE STOP FLAGGING THIS POST, IT IS LEGITIMATE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!"

it actually stuck around.

Re: Craigslist..

above is correct, many times its the competitor who probalby is spamming that is flagging but also others will spam if you "break" the rules,, wrong post, or post in several locations or same ad in differnet sections or even post in the same section multipule times..

But I also know that craiglists will flag and delete as well, and not the community flagging. based upon certain areas, they have different paramiters to flag, I use a wireless connection and a lot of my help wanted are flagged, funny I can sell but not post help wanted. its getting pretty bad with a lot of dealers posting as owners and your ad is lost in the spam or flagged by spammers.. ( but its a free ad, and popular) there is a process to send to craigslist if you feel its a compititor flagging just to keep you off, the flag help site, really isnt any help at all.. ads have been flagged and removed while others that blatenly break the rules seem to stay..

Re: Craigslist..

yeah i could belive that . it always gets kicked off and then i get the scam mail right after i didnt put the two together . I clearly listed in my add no spamers or scamers will i deal with . I guess i didnt make them too happy so they flag it .

That happens all the time, and it's aggravating! It's not an employee of craigslist flagging your post, anyone can flag a post and they don't require a reason. It's a pain if your selling something.

Re: Craigslist..

I think that it takes a certain number of flags before a post is blocked, but its almost certainly an automated process. That is, the CL admins don't know about it.

It might be good to limit flags from a particular IP to one, which would make it work as intended in most cases. But that's up to CL...
