Don't Slam the door!

I just wanted to know if there was a way to make less noise when someone shuts the door. Maybe like Dynamat or something? I don't know. I can't stand when friends slam the door..

Just weld the doors shut and swing through the windows NASCAR style like I do.

Re: Don't Slam the door!

Sounds like there is nothing wrong with your doors, just your friends. Seriously though, play show-and-tell and learn 'em how it doesn't need to be slammed. I used to know a guy that would always say, "Don't do that, it has automatic door slammers" if someone closed the door too hard to suit him. I guess you kinda had to be there to appreciate it.

Re: Don't Slam the door!

sometimes you have to demonstrate how to close the door in a public place and I doubt that they will ever do it again.if they don't appreciate that ; it is your truck, don't let them ride in it. if it is your girl friend then you have a decision to make.
police can be a pita by wanting to put their feet on the running boards and you have to delicate by telling them how to remove them( and by not telling them the rectum stretcher joke). another one was someone always wanting to sit on your frt fenders. I used to have a lot of old fords and chev. here is one that I haven't seen for 42 years and it was a lot sweeter the last time I saw it and it was complete. also had a 3"dropped frt axle and no hubcaps. I educated people on all 3 of the above mentioned items with this one--32 chev sedan

Yes, you can add sound deadening material to the inside of your doors to make them more "solid" sounding.

Re: Don't Slam the door!

My dad's bmw used to be missing a piece in both doors, so you had to slam it to get it to work. Opposite of your problem, but then whenever he'd ride in my car he'd slam the doors. I know how it feels. I've got a tiny oldschool bmw and he still slams the doors.

Re: Don't Slam the door!

Strong door poppers seam to help as well. You know like you install for shaved door handles so the door pops out enough to grab the edge.

Re: Don't Slam the door!

slamming a door is ignorance. The door on a 60-66 is is quite similar to the door on that 32 in the way that it is constructed in it's mechanisms and slamming it doesn't do it any good. they don't close fully most of the time when slammed which gives the ignoramus another opportunity the wing the door that doesn't close properly on that old piece of crap(this is what they think; it is an old vehicle and the door more than likely wont close properly unless it is slammed); therefore one must instruct the gormless individuals how to close it properly which is with hand on handle and just gently push it shut until it shuts and then remove the hand. It should just give that good solid click and they won't be ignorant about that situation any more, at least on your vehicle

Re: Don't Slam the door!

I constantly yell at my wife and kids for slamming the door. I'm going to start doing it in her Lexus, see how she likes it.
