CPP C-notch bed clearance
I want to notch my frame above the rear end to get the back of the truck as low as possible without having to cut a hole in the bed. Does anybody know how much clearance the CPP notch leaves between the pumpkin and the underside of the bed?
Thanks

Re: CPP C-notch bed clearance
Zero. W/no bumpstops installed, the pumpkin hits the floor & there's still an inch or so of space between the axle tube & c-notch. To prevent hitting the floor, add a bumpstop of the desired height. The CPP kit ships w/a bumpstop but I don't re-call its height.

Re: CPP C-notch bed clearance
just installed a cpp c notch in my 71. i have early classic 6 " springs and a 1 " block for a total of a 7" drop.
the bumpstop i used is about 2". drove the truck 170 miles to Carlisle empty running about 75 mph and did not bottom out drove the truck back home with a load of parts and hit the bumpstops a few times i recommend a softer rubber type bumpstop, don"t use the hard energy suspension type your going to have to put a pretty good loop in the exhaust to clear the rear and also keep an eye on your rubber brake hose lucktruck |
