Crew Cab Body lines???

Hey all, has anyone noticed that on the 73-87 crew cabs the body line between the rear door and the cab dont line up at all??

I think GM used the giant 3+3 badge to cover it up...

Has anyone cut and sectioned their cabs to make this right??

Re: Crew Cab Body lines???

they have a bunch of crew cabs on the parks department here they still run and those seem to line up pretty close... is it possible your truck may have been repaired?

Re: Crew Cab Body lines???

I media blasted the cab and everything was original. The cab had been painted due to orig paint chalking up, but no body work found.

It is def strange. I noticed another crew cab locally that had a similar prob too. Its almost 1/2 inch off from the door upper body line to the one on the cab.

I tried a different se of rear doors just for the heck of it and same thing.

Strange cause the gaps around the perimeter of the doors are perfect.

I guess I need to make a judgement call..or maybe someone should suggest one for me as to what I should do.

Re: Crew Cab Body lines???

A good test is if you can lift the door up by the exterior door handle, and it has alot of play in it.
