body mount differences between 73-80 and 81-87

Does anyone know the differences between the 73-80 cab mounts and the 81-87 body mounts other then the look. I am trying to decide which ones to use for my truck rebuild. I have a 77 frame, but I am using an 83 cab and front end. They are both the same price pretty much, they just seem to look different. I want to make sure I get the right ones and will be happy with the end result. I don't need them just yet, still have to yank the motor and paint up the whole frame and everything, but I will need to place the order in the near future.

Thanks for all the help.

Get mounts for your '77 frame. Don't buy them for the body because they will be the wrong ones. The 73-80 were thicker than the 81-87 because the frames were different from 81 on. ...Joe

the trucks have two different mounting patterns also, the 73-80 is round while 81-87 is oblong. the mounts aren't interchangeable at the core area, but the rest are.

The hole in the mounts are also of different size on 73-80 vs 81-87.
If there are some on the 77 chassis that is bad, get 73-80 mounts and use the same version of bushings (73-80) with you 81-87 cab and you will be fine.
