Stock control arms + bags question.....
Ive seen many cool set-ups here and didnt find an answer searching for info so heres the question.
Do the stock front bump-stop mounts NEED to be removed to work with bags? I am using Re7's with cups in 73-87 type stock control arms.......I do not have my spindles mounted and the bags really fight back ![]() Any suggestions would be appreciated as I have to run my lines and do other things to complete the install; Im going to check this later and see what everyone has to say about it.

Re: Stock control arms + bags question.....
I had interferance issues on my '77. I did remove the lower bump stops from the control arms. I bought after market bumps and moved them outwards away from the bag. With a 2.5" drop spindles I would lay my front down on the control arms without the use of a bump.

Re: Stock control arms + bags question.....
I just took mine out just so they wouldnt be in the way and it would drop a little more.
There are one 4 or 5 spot welds on them and they come right off |

Re: Stock control arms + bags question.....
Ive always taken them off. Its much easier at this point. But Ive never wanted to limit the travel.

Re: Stock control arms + bags question.....
I suggest that you add your own stops once you know where you want them to be. If you blow a line or bag it's much nicer to ride on a stop rather than metal to metal.

Re: Stock control arms + bags question.....
.....thanks for the replies. Yeah, I would agree w/ everyone. My bumpstops are now sittin on the trash pile. After jcking up the control arm I started to get interference about 1/2 way up the travel and so I drilled 'em and knocked them off.

Re: Stock control arms + bags question.....
I agree with that, put the suspension together and determine where your stops need to be. I made stops that are mounted an inch down from the cross member to keep my tires from touching the inner fenders if I lost air...

Re: Stock control arms + bags question.....
I took out the bumpstops but left part of the steering stops in.
