Which Engine
I cant make up my mind.DO I rebuild the 350 and 700r4 I already have or do I try to find a low milage 6.0 and 4l80e combo or maybe the 5.3.The 350 would either get stroked to 383 and be built to around 425 hp or I would do a 355 with around 375 hp.I would have to buy some good heads either way. What do you guys think?

Re: Which Engine
Get a 5.7/4l80e and bore it to 383. Totally worth it. A bit better mileage and much more power. Just my .02

Re: Which Engine
Is your truck a weekend hot rod, or is it a do-everything truck ---
I'd rather have the late model FI stuff for either though, i think, but the small block rebuild would be cheaper in the short run for a Saturday night toy

Re: Which Engine
This truck will be a driver but mostly just in good weather. No matter what it must have plenty of power.I really would like around 450 hp.

Re: Which Engine
Well, it's not tough these days to get any of those combos to 450hp.
6.0L will cost more for adaptation but have nice HP with EFI. |

Re: Which Engine
The October issue of Hot Rod has a Crate Motor shoot out in it, includes the 6.0L LS3 as well as older SBC and BBC motors from GMPP.
