A New Garage For My Panel
IT HAS BEEN SOME TIME COMING, BUT I FINALLY GOT TO BUILD A SMALL LITTLE WORKSHOP SO I CAN GET WORKING. HERE ARE SOME PICS.
IT TOOK ME ALMOST A YEAR TO GET THE PERMITS, AND ALMOST ANOTHER YEAR TO BUILD IT IN MY SPARE TIME. NOW COMES THE FUN PART, FILLING IT UP, AND GETING TO WORK. |

Re: A New Garage For My Panel
Nice garage! Beautiful panel too! I would love to find a panel, might even be willing to sell/trade my '67 short-step for one!

Re: A New Garage For My Panel
That place is bigger than my house! And my jealousy once again rears it's ugly head...congrats on the build. That is a sweet panel too.

Re: A New Garage For My Panel
That is a nice shop, I was wondering what is the span on your floor joists?
I am planning on building a shop here this winter, but havent quite figured my design out yet because I have been limited to a 20' span, and I want a bit more shop space than that.

Re: A New Garage For My Panel
thanks all for the complements.
the total size of the garage is 28' deep x 32' wide, with an 18' overhang/carport. because of zoning laws in the town i live in the total hight could not be over 19'6", so i Had to make some changes to the original plans the main beam is a triple 1 3/4" x 18" glue lam that runs the full 32'. the floor joist 14' long and hung from the side of the main beam with joist hangers, like you would do on a deck, giving me just over 8' of head room under the main beam. there is a dividing wall between the garage (right side) and the workshop (left side) leaving me with a garage that is about 22' x 28' with no posts or columns. the workshop is about 10' x 28' with stairs at the back going up to the 2nd floor. the upstairs is a wide open 20' x 32' with a 7' ceiling. |
